MayBe Art is SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY

Years ago I went into the deep recesses of dark flint scented caves where exquisitely rendered images of prey in earth pigments were painted 40,000 years ago. It was there that I realized the relationship between creativity and survival were both symbiotic and mystical; our essential desire for differentiation. It is through this lens which propelled how I view the world. Painting is my ecology, my mysterious hieroglyphic, my object, a tensely moving order in perpetual motion with everything else, recording billions of vibrations, a sensuous interplay with an oil based medium, a re-sponsorial dialogue with the deepest processes of the universe. It is an ecosystem; alive, evolving and sustainable in a world of change. Painting is my action, finding its fulcrum in our industry of tools. It is my migration of geophysical characteristics in periodic movements from the place that I am living and my subsequent return journey to my original home.
Art is a living system–alive, evolving and sustainable. It is fundamental to the way human beings communicate literal and abstract concepts, preceding the development of both oral and written language. Art is a living eco-system is at the very core of the way humans organize and communicate about other living systems. Making things is a dynamically embedded ecological working system operating in processes of becoming, in cycles of creation: of life, death, decay and renewal. As ecosystems, we are making things, maintaining synergistic relationships fulfilling a desire for equilibrium, an aesthetic-taxis, and what is not independently but dynamically obtainable. Urged to maintain a state of harmony within the flux of the world we are subject to gravity’s pull towards earth’s center, spinning and orbiting the sun causing animal evolution of hibernation and sleep.
